GVT Day 13: A Short Walk Along the Grand

Map 10 Kitchener (4.4 km hike, return on Walter Bean Grand River Trail by bicycle)

We had time for only a short hike today.  Between Woolner Trail and Natchez Woods in Kitchener, the Grand Valley Trail runs parallel to a section of the Walter Bean Grand River Trail, along the edge of a high bank beside the river.  After the recent rains, the mosquitoes were out in full force as we threaded our way along a narrow path through meadows and bush.  We hardly dared stop to take a photograph.  In contrast the Walter Bean Trail is a wide, stone dust multi-use trail.  On bikes we were able to out-run the bugs.
